Privacy Policy for Nell Watson’s Beddy Butler App

Nell Watson Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) has developed Beddy Butler (“the App”), a bedtime companion for the Mac. This policy applies to Beddy Butler 2.0 and later. It mirrors the canonical policy published with the App at beddybutler.com/privacy; where the two ever differ, that one governs.

1. What the App keeps, and where

The App keeps only the preferences you set: bedtime schedules, chosen weekdays or rotation cycle, personality, volume, delivery style, onboarding state, one-night adjustments, snooze state, and pending visual nudge count. These remain in the App’s sandboxed local UserDefaults container on your Mac. There is no cloud synchronisation, and nothing is uploaded.

2. What the App does not do

• No account: the App requires no sign-in, and asks for no name, email address, or other identifying detail.
• No analytics: the App contains no analytics, advertising, telemetry, or tracking.
• No network: the App has no network capability, so your preferences are neither sold nor shared.
• No system permissions: the App requests no access to contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, photos, or location.

3. Notifications and startup

You may optionally enable Notification Centre alerts and Open at Login. Both are created locally on your Mac and both remain under your control in System Settings.

4. Third-party services

The App itself integrates with no third-party service. If you choose to send feedback or report a problem, the issue form is hosted on GitHub and GitHub’s own privacy terms apply to whatever you submit there.

5. Children’s privacy

The App gathers no information from users of any age, so it gathers none from children.

6. Deleting your data

Uninstalling the App, or resetting preferences from within it, removes everything it has stored.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this document.
