The Lamplighter
A little town, an hour before dawn. Twelve sparks wander the plaza — shy, dim, not yours to carry. Click or tap to bounce the heart. Land at a lamppost and it lights; sparks come to the light on their own, warm through, and head home. Land too close to one and it scatters, colder than before.
How it works
You can’t push a spark home. Try it — the game allows it — and what you get is a fright, a colder spark, and a longer night. What works is lighting lamps and waiting. A lit lamp is an invitation; a landing is a demand; only one of them gathers anyone.
Half the sparks are amber and half are teal, and it never matters — same shyness, same physics, same seat by the lamp. There’s a formal name for this, and an old essay. The moon is the homepage’s moon, phase-true tonight. The village keeps a few other secrets; patience finds them.
